John Cena & Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns & Sami Zayn set for December 30 WWE SmackDown

John Cena will return to action on December 30.
Cena will team with Kevin Owens to take on Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn. The match was originally announced as Reigns & Zayn vs. Owens and a partner of his choosing. Cena revealed at the end of Friday’s SmackDown that he had received a text from Owens asking to partner with him, eventually agreeing.
During SmackDown, Roman Reigns summoned WWE official Adam Pearce to his locker room and suggested that he and Zayn team together to take on Owens and a partner of his choosing for the final SmackDown of 2022. Pearce agreed to the match. Later, the Bloodline came to the ring in a segment focused on whether Sami Zayn would be recognized as a full-fledged uce. Reigns said that this was supposed to be a great day for Zayn, but that there is still the situation between The Bloodline and Owens.
Cena then interrupted Reigns, saying that he has wrestled for WWE every year in the last 20 years. He said he got a text from Owens asking if he would be his partner, and he agreed, setting up the match.
WWE announced on December 9 that Cena would be appearing on the final SmackDown of 2022. His last match was on September 10, 2021, when he teamed with The Mysterios to defeat The Bloodline (Roman Reigns & The Usos) in a dark match at a WWE SmackDown taping at Madison Square Garden.
