John Cena has booked a role in a new spy thriller movie.

It was revealed on Thursday that Cena will be part of the cast for the spy thriller “Argylle.” Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Cena, and Samuel L. Jackson are listed as appearing in the movie. Pop star Dua Lipa will also be making her acting debut in it.

“Argylle” is being directed by Matthew Vaughn and is based on a novel that will be published next year. It “will follow the globe-trotting adventures of a super-spy named Argylle across the U.S., London and other exotic locations.” There are planned to be at least three films in the “Argylle” franchise.

“Argylle” will begin filming in Europe this August. Whether or not that will have any impact on Cena’s return to WWE remains to be seen. Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Cena has been rumored to be the planned main event for this year’s SummerSlam, which is taking place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, August 21.

While appearing on “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon last month, Cena addressed rumors that he’ll be returning to the ring. “Those rumors are true,” Cena said. “I’ll definitely be back to the WWE. I just don’t know when.” Cena said he hasn’t had his last match and he can’t wait to have his next one.

“All these opportunities have led to more opportunities,” Cena said about his film projects during the “Tonight Show” appearance. “I’ve said before, once you do one of these things, the insurance doesn’t let you go wrestle on the weekends. So we’ll see what happens.”

Cena hasn’t wrestled since his Firefly Fun House match against Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36 last year.
