Jinder Mahal undergoes surgery for ruptured patellar tendon

Jinder Mahal is facing time out of action after undergoing surgery.
In a post on Instagram today, Mahal revealed that he’s undergone surgery for a ruptured patellar tendon: “On the mend. Ruptured my Patella Tendon in Denver Colorado June 15 in a match against @aliwwe . Happy to say surgery went well, and my knee was better than expected. This comeback is going to be legendary.”
The match against Ali was at a SmackDown house show.
Mahal’s surgery was done at the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
Pro Wrestling Sheet reported earlier this week that Mahal recently signed a new five-year deal with WWE. He moved to the SmackDown roster in April’s Superstar Shake-up and has been involved in the 24/7 Championship scene. Mahal has held the 24/7 title twice, winning it in title changes that WWE posted online. Mahal dropped the title back to R-Truth on the same day as winning it each time.
