Jim Ross to leave WWE at the end of the month

Jim Ross announced on his podcast that he is leaving the WWE at the end of the month.

Ross said on the podcast that he recently spoke to Vince McMahon, mutually agreed to part ways, noting that he would not be part of the WWE after his contract expires at the end of the month.

“I still want to play the game, I still want to stay busy,” he said on the podcast. “I will not be returning to WWE after the 29th of March.”

He said he will be moving on in a positive way and has no regrets about his run in the WWE, saying that his smartest move was joining in the WWE in 1993. He also said that he didn’t think he would be out of work long.

Ross has been in and out of the company over the last several decades, but most recently re-signed with the company in 2017, returning at WrestleMania 33 to commentate on the No Holds Barred match between Roman Reigns and the Undertaker. He also was a part of last year’s WrestleMania calling the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, and called the first Mae Young Classic tournament in 2017.

His last appearance on WWE television was as a part of a guest panel prior to the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia last April.
