Gunther confirms he signed new WWE contract, did not consider other options

World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is officially locked into a new WWE contract.
During his appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show today, Gunther confirmed that he signed a new WWE contract toward the end of 2024. He did not reveal the financial details of the contract, but Gunther said he now travels in a tour bus per the terms of the deal. The tour bus was a perk that Gunther asked for and WWE granted.
It was first reported last December that the 37-year-old Gunther was close to finalizing a new multi-year contract with WWE. Helwani asked Gunther if he considered other options besides re-signing.
“No, no, no. Like, I’m set where I am,” he responded. “Nothing else is really — no. How could I? Like, I think I saw that statistic recently like since I signed in 2019, I’ve been champion 85 or 90 percent of the time, or something like that. So, obviously, they always saw me in a certain way and give me that trust. And — I enjoy that.”
Gunther has been World Heavyweight Champion, Intercontinental Champion, and NXT UK Champion during his WWE career. His Intercontinental title run lasted for 666 days and is the longest reign in the history of the championship.
Since August 2024, Gunther has held the World Heavyweight title. Royal Rumble winner Jey Uso is challenging him for the belt at WrestleMania 41 night one on Saturday, April 19.
