Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns official for WWE WrestleMania 36

Goldberg already has his challenger for WrestleMania 36.

WWE has confirmed that Goldberg will defend his Universal Championship against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. The match was announced after Reigns confronted Goldberg on tonight’s SmackDown.

Goldberg opened tonight’s show after defeating “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt to win the Universal Championship at Super ShowDown. He was interrupted by Reigns, who had a staredown with Goldberg and then told him “I’m next.”

The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania had previously announced that there would be an Elimination Chamber match on March 8 to determine who would challenge for the Universal title at WrestleMania. WWE never officially added that match to the Elimination Chamber card.

Goldberg and Reigns played college football at rival schools, with Goldberg going to the University of Georgia and Reigns going to Georgia Tech. Both wrestlers also use the spear as signature moves.

Reigns was also in action at Super ShowDown yesterday. He defeated Baron Corbin in a steel cage match.

WrestleMania 36 is taking place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on April 5.
