Gauntlet match to kick off WWE SmackDown, Miz segment set

Kofi Kingston’s gauntlet match will be kicking off Tuesday’s SmackDown.
WWE has announced that the gauntlet match will be taking place at the start of the episode. Kingston will face Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Cesaro, Sheamus, and Rowan, and the storyline is that Kingston needs to win the gauntlet match to challenge for Daniel Bryan’s WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.
Kingston wrestled in the gauntlet match on SmackDown’s go-home show for Elimination Chamber last month. He started against Bryan and lasted nearly an hour, defeating Bryan, Jeff Hardy, and Joe before being eliminated.
Another segment has also been confirmed for Tuesday’s SmackDown. The Miz will respond to Shane McMahon after Shane turned heel and attacked Miz at Fastlane. Shane’s heel turn continued with a promo on this week’s SmackDown, with Shane having the ring announcer repeatedly introduce him as “the best in the world.” Shane said he’s tired of everyone who has used him to get ahead.
Shane vs. Miz is official for WrestleMania 35.
Tuesday’s SmackDown is taking place at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
