Four teams advance in WWE SmackDown tag title contender’s tournament


Four teams have advanced to the semifinals of the WWE SmackDown Tag title contender’s tournament.
Drew McIntyre and Sheamus, Hit Row, Legado Del Fantasma, and Imperium won first round matches on Friday’s SmackDown to advance to the semifinals of the contender’s tournament set for next week’s show.
McIntyre and Sheamus defeated The Viking Raiders to move on, Hit Row defeated Los Lotharios, Legado Del Fantasma defeated Maximum Male Models, and Imperium defeated The Brawling Brutes to punch their ticket to next week’s semifinals.
McIntyre and Sheamus will face Top Dolla and Ashante Adonis of Hit Row next week, while Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro of Legado Del Fantasma will face Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci.
No date has been set for the tournament finals.
The tournament winners will be crowned the number one contenders to The Usos’ SmackDown Tag Team titles.
The Usos also hold the Raw Tag Team titles, and will defend them on Monday’s Raw 30th anniversary episode against Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio of The Judgment Day.
