Fiend vs. Bryan Universal title match official for WWE Survivor Series

Daniel Bryan is officially set to challenge for the Universal Championship at Survivor Series.

During the main event segment of tonight’s SmackDown, it was confirmed that Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt will defend his title against Bryan at the pay-per-view. It’s taking place at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on Sunday, November 24.

Bryan’s feud with The Fiend began when The Fiend attacked Bryan during a backstage segment last week and put him in the Mandible Claw.

Tonight, Bryan appeared on a Miz TV segment on SmackDown. Bryan said Wyatt/The Fiend is mentally unstable — but so is he. As Bryan was going to say that there’s no one better to face The Fiend than him, Wyatt appeared on the video screen and interrupted Bryan. The segment led to Bryan issuing the challenge for a Universal title match and Wyatt accepting by doing the “Yes” chant.

WWE also debuted a new version of the Universal Championship with a blue strap on SmackDown. The Fiend won the title from Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel, with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar then moving over to Raw.
