Emma returns to WWE on SmackDown

Emma is back in WWE.
Answering Ronda Rousey’s open challenge on Friday’s SmackDown, she faced off against Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. She eventually lost in what was a competitive match, losing via armbar submission. It was her first match in WWE since being released in 2017.
Tenille Dashwood had most recently been part of Impact Wrestling. Her last televised match was on the July 14, 2022 edition of Impact, losing to Masa Slamovich.
Emma is best remembered for her run in NXT, losing to Paige in a tournament final to crown the first-ever NXT Women’s Champion. She was called to the main roster briefly in 2014 before returning to NXT. She was then called up again the following year.
Vignettes were shown toward the end of 2016 hyping the transformation of Emma to Emmalina. However, when Emmalina debuted, she quickly reverted back to being Emma. She continued to wrestle as Emma until being released in 2017.
In the years since her time outside of WWE, she has wrestled for both Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling, where she held the Knockouts Tag Team titles once with Madison Rayne.
