Drew McIntyre’s wife undergoing emergency surgery

Drew McIntyre’s wife won’t be able to be there supporting her husband in-person when he competes at WWE Clash at the Castle.
It will be a homecoming for McIntyre when he challenges Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday’s event in Scotland. At a press conference in advance of the show, McIntyre gave a fiery speech vowing to win this time after coming up short against Roman Reigns at the first Clash at the Castle in Cardiff two years ago.
During the speech, McIntyre informed fans that his wife Kaitlyn Galloway is undergoing emergency surgery and won’t be able to be at Clash at the Castle. McIntyre promised to win the title for her.
“I’ve never, ever been this focused in my life. I didn’t think this was possible. The last Clash was a stab through my heart, my family’s heart, the whole of the UK. I can not let it happen again in Scotland. I’m back home. I couldn’t have dreamt of this moment. I’m going to have my people there, my family there, a redo, a chance to make this right,” McIntyre said.
“I wasn’t going to talk about it, but I can’t stop thinking about it. The one person who’s not going to be there is my wife because she’s in surgery right now, emergency surgery. And she told me, ‘I want you to go there and bring that title home.’ And I’m going to bring that title home.”
McIntyre and his wife have been married since 2016. She was in the front row when McIntyre won the World Heavyweight Championship from Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40. With help from CM Punk beating down McIntyre, Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to end McIntyre’s reign almost immediately after it started.
Priest’s Judgment Day stablemates are barred from ringside at Clash at the Castle. The show streams live on Peacock/WWE Network starting at 2 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday (June 15).
