Drew McIntyre explained what led to his viral photo with Jack Perry in a new interview.
McIntyre posted the below photo of him and Perry in late July but deleted it soon after. He captioned the post with, “It’s a real photo, cry us a river,” alluding to the altercation between Perry and Punk at AEW All In 2023.
McIntyre was asked about the photo during an appearance on The Gorilla Position ahead of Bash in Berlin.
“On the same flight. He was just right in front of me,” McIntyre responded. “I had a chat with him, lovely lad. His girlfriend’s really nice. Flying to LA and I just said, ‘Hey, we should take a picture together, we’re both wrestlers. I’ll put it on the internet, give you a little rub.'”
“And people reacted crazy,” he continued.
McIntyre and Punk will meet in a strap match on today’s show in Berlin. Up next for Perry appears to be an AEW World title match against Bryan Danielson in Chicago at All Out.
