Dolph Ziggler returning to WWE SmackDown next week

Nearly two months after vacating the United States Championship, Dolph Ziggler will be returning to SmackDown next Tuesday.

Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin has been announced for next week’s episode. It will be the first time Ziggler has appeared on SmackDown since the storyline where he seemingly walked out and left the US title in the ring in December.

Though it will be Ziggler’s first time back on SmackDown, it won’t be his first appearance in a WWE ring since then. He was a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble, coming in at number 30 and getting eliminated by Finn Balor in two minutes.

Ziggler won the US title at Clash of Champions towards the end of last year, then the angle where he dropped the championship and said the fans don’t deserve him happened days later. Whether that’s leading to anything significant should become clearer next Tuesday.

Bobby Roode went on to win the US title in a tournament last month.

The Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, California will host next week’s episode as SmackDown continues building to their March 11th Fastlane pay-per-view.
