Daniel Bryan returning to WWE SmackDown next week

Daniel Bryan is set to return to WWE television on next week’s episode of SmackDown.
Bryan and WWE announced the news last night, with Bryan writing on Twitter: “Looking forward to watching history be made at @WWE #MITB on Sunday but Tuesday it’s back to work for me at #SDLive! #YesYesYes”
The last time that Bryan appeared on SmackDown was on the April 11th roster shakeup episode. Since then, he has taken time off from his role as the brand’s on-screen general manager and co-host of Talking Smack to prepare for the birth of he and Brie Bella’s first child and to be with them after the baby’s arrival.
Brie gave birth to a healthy baby girl (named Birdie Joe Danielson) on May 9th. The baby arrived over a week past her due date, which was originally supposed to be April 30th. The couple learned that their daughter would be arriving later than expected at a doctor’s appointment shortly before that.
Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown figures to feature fallout from Money in the Bank and the beginning of the build to Battleground. The latter pay-per-view will take place on July 23rd in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
