Cody Rhodes ‘absolutely’ interested in exploring Hollywood opportunities

Cody Rhodes is “absolutely” interested in pursuing acting opportunities in addition to his WWE work.
During a Thursday morning appearance on NBC’s Today show to promote WrestleMania, the Undisputed WWE Champion was asked if we could see him try his hand at becoming a Hollywood star like The Rock, John Cena, and others have. Rhodes didn’t shy away from saying it’s something he would like to do.
“I feel like so many wrestlers will always answer this and say like, ‘Oh, never. No. I’m always going to be wrestling. I love it so much.’ I do — I love wrestling. This is all I’ve ever done, I grew up in wrestling. But for me, I really am looking forward to what it’s like to tell stories not just in the ring,” Rhodes said. “So for me, absolutely, yes.”
But the 39-year-old Rhodes said acting is something he can do while still remaining with WWE, jokingly taking a shot at Roman Reigns in the process.
“Today [in] WWE, you can come and go as you please. Roman Reigns, as good as he is, he only shows up like 10 times a year anyway,” Rhodes said. “No shade.”
Rhodes, who went to acting school and wanted to be an actor before starting his wrestling career, has a scene in the Naked Gun reboot that’s being released in theaters this summer. The movie stars Liam Neeson. Rhodes also previously made several appearances on the TV show Arrow.
The main event of WrestleMania 41 night two this Sunday will be Rhodes defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against Cena.
