CM Punk will be returning to the small screen, but not for WWE for the time being.
Announced by Variety on Thursday, Punk (Phil Brooks) will be joining the cast of Revival, a televised horror series that will air on Syfy and that is currently in production in New Brunswick, Canada. It’s based on the Image Comics series of the same name.
The character Punk will play was not announced, nor was the anticipated release date.
The news comes a month after he was announced for a “key role” in the horror movie Night Patrol.
Punk appeared in this year’s Let’s Start a Cult movie, his first role since his appearances on the wrestling-themed Heels that is now streaming on Netflix.
Punk signed with Paradigm Talent Agency this summer with the goal of expanding his presence in entertainment.
After his win over Drew McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell match at October’s Bad Blood, Punk appeared on the following Raw and said he was taking some time off and put some doubt into his potential return.
