CM Punk & Seth Rollins reference AEW, Vince McMahon in WWE Raw promo

Seth Rollins and CM Punk had a war of words.
The final segment of Raw on the USA Network saw the two stars have a face-to-face ahead of their match that will take place on the Raw Netflix premiere on January 6. During their heated back-and-forth, references were made to Vince McMahon, AEW, and the infamous Colt Cabana podcast interview Punk did following his WWE departure in 2013.
After Rollins said Punk took his ball and went home, Punk came out and cut off Rollins to start the back-and-forth by saying that was a cliched line promoters used to turn fans against wrestlers that told them no. He asked if Steve Austin and Becky Lynch never took their ball home. Punk said he and Rollins made their own decisions and he doesn’t regret making them.
Rollins responded by saying that Lynch was taking a break to raise a child and Austin said he regretted doing what he did. He then took a dig at Punk for going on “his buddy’s podcast” to complain about WWE after he left and then signing with “the competition,” asking how that worked out. He fought and stayed in WWE because he fought in the trenches and won the war. Rollins told Punk he couldn’t ‘big brother’ him anymore because he is the ‘big brother’.
Punk replied by saying he left WWE because he hated “the guy in charge,” who loved Rollins. Rollins then betrayed Roman Reigns and played victim for years in a situation he created. Punk said he came back because for seven years, fans chanted his name. Punk said that the same arrows that were meant to do him in would soon be jammed right down Rollins’ “corporate throat.”
Rollins ended the segment by calling Punk a cancer, and the only way to defeat cancer is to cut it out. The final moments of Raw on the USA Network saw the two have a staredown.
