CM Punk hopes to be medically cleared by next WWE SmackDown

CM Punk is hoping to get cleared this coming week.
During WWE’s Clash at the Castle press conference, Punk said he was given permission to miss Monday’s Raw in Corpus Christi, Texas in order to get cleared in Chicago. He said he would appear on Friday’s SmackDown, hopefully with good news.
“I can tell you that my arm feels amazing,” he said. “I got permission to skip Raw in Corpus Christi to go home to Chicago to see my doctors with the idea that I am going to be cleared. I don’t know if I am supposed to say that…I think SmackDown is in Chicago next week, so. I’m a Raw guy, I’m going to skip Raw, I’m going to get cleared, and then I’m going to show up to SmackDown and let everybody know the good news, hopefully.”
Punk suffered a triceps injury during the Royal Rumble match in January, requiring surgery. Regardless, he has continued his feud with Drew McIntyre, costing him the World Heavyweight Championship he won at WrestleMania 40 to Damian Priest. In their rematch at Clash at the Castle Saturday, Punk ran to the ring wearing a referee t-shirt, distracting McIntyre and ultimately costing him the match.
