CM Punk appearance, two matches set for next WWE Raw

The return of CM Punk, plus two matches are set for the Monday, July 22 WWE Raw episode.

An appearance by Punk has been announced for next week’s Raw following the events of this week’s show, where Drew McIntyre failed in his effort to be reinstated to the active roster and remains suspended after he refused to apologize to two referees he laid hands on at Money in the Bank.

McIntyre vs. Punk continues to be a heavily pushed future match, but has yet to be officially announced for SummerSlam on August 3.

A six-man tag team contest is also set for next week, with Xavier Woods teaming with Otis & Tozawa against The Final Testament’s Karrion Kross, Akam & Rezar. Woods accepted an invitation to team with Otis & Tozawa on Monday’s Raw, and it was noted that Woods’ usual tag partner Kofi Kingston will miss a few weeks due to injury.

Lyra Valkyria vs. Sonya Deville has also been announced for next week’s Raw. Deville cornered Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark in a tag match against Katana Chance & Kayden Carter on Monday’s episode, with Valkyria cornering Chance & Carter to set up next week’s bout.

The announced lineup for the Monday, July 22 WWE Raw:

  • CM Punk returns
  • Xavier Woods, Otis & Tozawa vs. Karrion Kross, Akam & Rezar
  • Lyra Valkyria vs. Sonya Deville
