Charlotte Flair suffers apparent knee injury in WWE SmackDown match

UPDATE:

Dave Meltzer is reporting that Charlotte Flair is currently awaiting x-ray results following an apparent injury to her left knee during Friday’s SmackDown.

Original Story:

Charlotte Flair was helped out of the ring after suffering an apparent left knee injury during he match with Asuka on Friday’s WWE SmackDown.

Social media reports from those in attendance at SmackDown differ as to where in the match Flair’s injury may have occurred, but the star was noticeable favoring her left leg as the bout concluded, and she had to be helped out of the ring and to the backstage area.

In a video posted by Steve Fall of WrestlingNews.co, Flair can be seen shouting “my knee” and an expletive as referee Charles Robinson and medical personnel attended to her after the match:

Flair was limping in the final moments of the bout which came to an abrupt end after interference from Bayley allowed Asuka to pin Flair with a quick cradle.

Two spots stand out as to when the injury may have occurred, one being a moonsault from the top rope to the floor:

The other apparently coming during a commercial break in the SmackDown broadcast where Flair was caught up in the ropes. Some social media posts thought the injury may have been to Flair’s head or neck as she landed awkwardly during the ad break:
