UFC’s Michael Chandler says he’s spoken to Triple H about WWE future
UFC lightweight Michael Chandler is eyeing a future in WWE.
Chandler appeared at Fanatics Fest in New York City recently and told The Schmo Show that he spoke with Triple H at the event about a potential move to professional wrestling.
“I was talking to WWE, talking to Triple H about my WWE contract. So we’re trying to make that happen,” Chandler said.
“He knows I’m a fan of WWE and him and the brand. He’s obviously a fan of what I bring to the table from an entertainment standpoint, what I can do on the microphone. So it’s always fun conversations. Who knows if anything is ever going to happen, but he knows I want that door to be open and I think he wants that door to be open too.”
“WWE seems like a really cool transition,” he continued, later naming Rey Mysterio as a possible dream match.
Michael Chandler previously appeared on WWE Raw
The two-time Bellator Champion has appeared on WWE programming before. On the February 19, 2024, episode of Raw, Chandler cut a promo on Conor McGregor and challenged him to a fight.
“You are in the presence of the most entertaining UFC fighter on the planet,” Chandler said. “Now there’s a man in Ireland that’s been making me wait for way too long and there’s one dude on my mind…Conor McGregor, get your candy a** back in the octagon.”
Michael Chandler’s recent UFC performance
Chandler did not end up fighting McGregor, who withdrew from their planned 2024 bout citing injuries. Chandler has lost five of his last six fights dating back to May 2021, with defeats to Paddy Pimblett, Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, and Charles Oliveira (twice). His sole win during that span came at UFC 274, where he scored a second-round TKO over Tony Ferguson on May 7, 2022.
