Chad Gable undergoes shoulder surgery
Chad Gable has undergone surgery to repair the shoulder injury that has been ailing him.
Last week, it was reported that Gable had a legitimate shoulder injury that would require surgery. To explain him being out of action, there was an angle on the June 23 episode of Raw where Gable had his arm snapped by Penta. WWE then followed up on that with Gable appearing on the show last night with his arm in a sling and confirming that his shoulder would need to be operated on.
Gable then shared an update with fans on Instagram today.
“What’s up, dudes? I made it,” he said in a video filmed after surgery.
A timeline for his return has not been announced, but Gable wrote that he’ll be back “quicker than you can say GRACIAS!”
The 39-year-old Gable was being featured on WWE television as both himself and the character El Grande Americano. Gable had “maybe the most special day” of his career last month when he faced El Hijo del Vikingo at Worlds Collide and then was part of Money in the Bank later in the night.
Gable is the leader of American Made, a WWE faction that includes the Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile.
It has not been announced if Gable will be vacating the WWE Speed Championship, which he held as Americano. Ludwig Kaiser briefly appeared in the Americano costume during a backstage segment on Raw last night.
