Cesaro vs. Sheamus best-of-seven series to begin at SummerSlam

Cesaro vs. Sheamus was officially set for SummerSlam on Monday night’s edition of Raw, but the match won’t provide any conclusion to their feud.

Raw General Manager Mick Foley booked the match for WWE’s biggest show of the summer, and announced that it will be the first in a best-of-seven series between the two rivals.

The two have been in a program with the Swiss Superman picking up wins over the Celtic Warrior on Raw the past two weeks, but Sheamus got his revenge in last week’s main event when his interference stopped Cesaro from capturing Rusev’s United States Championship.

The match was made after Cesaro helped Sami Zayn pick up a win over Sheamus on Monday’s Raw.

The match joins what is an already loaded SummerSlam card, which was announced as a six-hour event on Monday with the addition of a two-hour kickoff show on top of the four-hour main card. No indication was given whether the match would be on the main show or not.

The current card for the show is:

  • Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton
  • Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship
  • WWE Champion Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler in a championship match
  • John Cena vs. AJ Styles
  • WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte in a championship match
  • United States Champion Rusev vs. Roman Reigns in a championship match
  • Intercontinental Champion The Miz vs. Apollo Crews in a championship match
  • WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day (Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston) vs. The Club (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows) in a championship match
  • Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens
  • Cesaro vs. Sheamus in the first match of a best-of-seven series
