Cameron Grimes waiting on creative plans for WWE main roster call-up

Cameron Grimes is waiting on WWE to develop a creative direction for his main roster debut.

The 29-year-old has not wrestled since the November 8, 2022, edition of WWE NXT, when he lost a singles match to Joe Gacy. The original plan had been for Grimes to be called up after his feud with Gacy concluded.

His status was addressed by our own Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio

Meltzer said:

Cameron Grimes was finishing up in NXT because he was being called to the main roster and right now what’s going on is that they are waiting for an idea on the main roster so he’s in limbo. He’s finished with NXT, he’s supposed to be on the main roster but they don’t have a story for him so they haven’t debuted him yet and they’re waiting to come up with a story for him.

Grimes wrestled a match on Main Event in October, defeating Akira Tozawa. He only wrestled twice more on NXT following this. The Cameron, North Carolina native is a former NXT North American Champion, Million Dollar Champion, three-time X-Division Champion, and once won the TNA Tag Team Championships along with Brian Myers.
