An appearance by Brock Lesnar looks to be set for Friday’s post-Crown Jewel edition of SmackDown.
Following his loss to Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel, WWE posted a quote from Lesnar where he threatened to come after Reigns on SmackDown: “The moment I arrive at SmackDown, I will beat Roman Reigns senseless.”
Reigns retained his Universal Championship against Lesnar in the main event of Crown Jewel on Thursday. Reigns pinned Lesnar after hitting him with the Universal title belt. There was also interference by The Usos leading into the finish.
During Reigns and Lesnar’s match, there was a ref bump when Lesnar gave Reigns an F5 but threw him into referee Charles Robinson when hitting the move. Heyman threw the Universal title belt into the ring after the ref bump, with the story being that it wasn’t clear who Heyman was telling to use the title. The belt landed between Reigns and Lesnar.
Lesnar and Reigns both went to pick up the title belt. Lesnar muscled it away from Reigns, but The Usos interfered and hit a stereo superkick on Lesnar.
Friday’s SmackDown is taking place at Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas. It will be the first show where WWE’s post-draft rosters are in effect. Lesnar is a “free agent” and can appear on either brand, while Reigns remained on SmackDown in the draft.
