Brock Lesnar to appear on WWE SmackDown this Friday

The WWE Champion is set to make an appearance on SmackDown this Friday night.
At the end of tonight’s episode of Raw, Brock Lesnar announced that he’ll be on SmackDown this Friday. Lesnar made the announcement when asked for comment about Bobby Lashley being confirmed as the first challenger for his WWE title. Instead of acknowledging Lashley, Lesnar just said that he’ll see Roman Reigns on Friday’s SmackDown.
Lashley will challenge for Lesnar’s WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble on Saturday, January 29.
Reigns was scheduled to defend his Universal Championship against Lesnar at Day 1 last Saturday, but the match had to be pulled from the pay-per-view due to Reigns testing positive for COVID-19. With Reigns off the show, Lesnar was added to the WWE Championship match at Day 1. Lesnar defeated Big E, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and Lashley in a fatal five-way to win the WWE Championship.
Lashley became the number one contender to Lesnar’s title by defeating Big E, Rollins, and Owens in a fatal four-way match in the main event of tonight’s Raw. During the opening segment of the show, Lesnar reunited with Paul Heyman.
On SmackDown three weeks ago, Reigns fired Heyman as his special counsel after questioning Heyman’s loyalty.
Lesnar is a “free agent” in WWE and can appear on both Raw and SmackDown.
This week’s SmackDown is taking place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
