Becky Lynch comments on Mercedes Mone’s AEW contract

Becky Lynch has commented on Mercedes Mone’s AEW contract.

While doing promotional work for her new book that was released on Tuesday, the WWE star talked to the Orlando Sentinel regarding Mone’s contract with AEW, which according to a recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, would make Mone one of the highest paid women in pro wrestling.

“I think that’s an important part, getting paid equally for the equal work and the equal position we are at right now,” Lynch said. “Women’s evolutions and revolutions are fine and well, but making sure that they equate to contracts and financial reward for these things, when we are doing equal work, is hugely important.”

Mone made her debut earlier this month at AEW Big Business in Boston. It had been speculated for months that Mone would be making her AEW debut after talks with WWE ended in late 2023. She had been recovering from a knee injury sustained earlier in the year.

Lynch’s next big match will be at WrestleMania 40, where she will challenge Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship.
