Bayley: It was ‘incredible’ to attend Mercedes Mone’s AEW debut

Being at Mercedes Mone’s AEW debut was a special moment for Bayley.

WWE wrestlers Bayley, Naomi, and Tamina were among Mone’s friends who attended the Big Business edition of Dynamite in Boston on March 13. As Mone cut her first AEW promo, Bayley watched on from a skybox at TD Garden.

While speaking with Digital Spy, Bayley said it was special to see Mone celebrate with her friends and family in Boston. Being in different promotions is bittersweet, but Bayley is “very, very, very” proud of Mone.

Bayley said about Mone:

She’s the best. I wouldn’t be here without her. She’s done so much for me, even after she was done with WWE, she’s been there for me in my big moments. So I know I need to be there for her continuously throughout the years.

It was incredible. I’m just happy that she was on a Wednesday where I’m like, ‘Alright, I can actually make a Wednesday, that’s one of our few days off.’

It was really special to see her celebrate that with her family and her friends and people she started wrestling with and see her welcomed by a new family.

It’s bittersweet, but I’m very, very, very proud of her and just so grateful we got to be there.

Earlier this year, Bayley told Sports Illustrated that she believes she’ll always be destined for one more match against Mone (the former Sasha Banks).

Bayley will be in one of the top matches at WWE WrestleMania 40 this April, challenging IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship. Bayley secured the title shot by winning the 2024 women’s Royal Rumble match.
