Batista hoping to be inducted into WWE Hall of Fame this year

Three years after he was originally supposed to be inducted, Batista (Dave Bautista) is hoping to finally go into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Batista was asked about his WWE Hall of Fame status while being interviewed at the premiere for his new movie “Knock at the Cabin.” Batista told ComicBook.com that he hopes to be inducted this year, but he can’t say for sure.
“I hope so, but I can’t say for sure,” Batista said. “I can say that I’m trying. I am trying.”
Batista was announced as a WWE Hall of Fame inductee in 2020, but that ceremony was canceled following the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. When the 2020 and 2021 Hall of Fame classes were inducted at a ceremony without fans in attendance the next year, Batista wasn’t able to take part in the ceremony.
Batista tweeted in March 2021: “To the @WWEUniverse Unfortunately due to previous obligations I am unable to be a part of the @WWE #HOF this year. By my request they have agreed to induct me at a future ceremony where I’ll be able to properly thank the fans and people who made my career possible #DreamChaser”
Batista retired from in-ring competition following his no holds barred match against Triple H at WrestleMania 35 in 2019.
There haven’t been any inductees confirmed for this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class yet. The ceremony is taking place after SmackDown at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on March 31, which is the Friday of WrestleMania weekend.
The Hall of Fame ceremony is being held at the same arena where Batista defeated Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 21.
