Bad Bunny on potential WWE return: ‘I want to do it one more time’

Music superstar Bad Bunny is hoping to have one more WWE match.
Bad Bunny impressed fans with strong performances at WrestleMania 37 and Backlash 2023, along with appearing as an entrant in the 2022 Royal Rumble. It’s been nearly two years since he last wrestled, but Bad Bunny still wants to compete in the ring again. He told Rolling Stone that he remains in contact with WWE, though it does not sound like the two sides have set any timeframe for when his potential return to the ring would happen.
“I want to do it one more time. I want to put my life at risk in the ring. I felt like I didn’t risk it enough in the ring, and I want to do it,” Bad Bunny said. “I want to scare my mother. When? I don’t know. We stay in contact with the people at WWE, we’re always paying attention to what’s going on. But when, I don’t know. I hope there’s a time where I can really get ready, like I did the last few times. And I’d love to take more time to get ready physically.
“But man, just like in music, I do this to get better and to do something different. Sometimes, I say, ‘I’m going to quit everything and just do wrestling full time.’ I feel like in wrestling, I just go sporadically as a celebrity. I’m going to go full time and be a heel. That’s what I’d love. [Laughs] I was always a fan of the villains more than the good guys.”
Backlash 2023 took place from Bad Bunny’s home of Puerto Rico. With the LWO helping him fend off interference by Judgment Day, he defeated Damian Priest in a street fight that night.
In his Rolling Stone interview, Bad Bunny mentioned that WWE is bringing Backlash to Mexico. Whether there is any validity to that remains to be seen. A fake graphic claiming that Mexico will host Backlash 2025 has been circulating on social media recently.
