Asuka vs. Bayley announced for WWE Raw

Ahead of her title defense against Sasha Banks at Extreme Rules, Raw Women’s Champion Asuka will face off with SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley in a non-title champion vs. champion match.
WWE has announced that Asuka vs. Bayley is set for Monday’s episode of Raw. It comes after both got involved in NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai vs. Banks at NXT Great American Bash night one this past Wednesday.
Shirai defeated Banks in their non-title match at Great American Bash. After Bayley interfered, Asuka appeared and spit green mist into Banks’ eyes. Banks kicked out of a roll-up attempt, but Shirai hit a moonsault to get the win.
Extreme Rules is taking place on Sunday, July 19. Bayley is defending her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Nikki Cross at the pay-per-view.
Bayley and Banks held a tribute to themselves on SmackDown tonight until being interrupted by Cross and Alexa Bliss. Bliss slapped Bayley, then a match between those two took place after Banks issued a challenge on behalf of Bayley.
When Cross was cheering for Bliss during tonight’s match, Bayley told her to shut up and tried to kick her. Cross attempted to get into the ring, and Banks interfered while the referee was distracted. Cross then took out Banks on the outside. Bayley yelled at Cross, then Cross attacked her and caused a disqualification.
Women’s Tag Team Champions Bayley & Banks will face Bliss & Cross in a non-title match on SmackDown next week.
