Asuka returns, confronts Becky Lynch on WWE Raw

Asuka has returned to WWE programming.

Appearing for the first time since the July 2021 Money in the Bank pay-per-view, Asuka returned to Raw on Monday in a segment where she confronted Becky Lynch.

Lynch was addressing the crowd during a promo segment in her first appearance on Raw since losing the Raw Women’s title to Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 38. Lynch said that she was about to embark on a comeback to take the title back from Belair. Asuka’s music then hit.

Asuka said that no one is ready for Asuka, flicked Lynch on the nose, then avoided a strike from Lynch. Asuka tried to connect with a spinning backfist, but Lynch avoided the strike and rolled out of the ring.

Asuka had been out of action since last July. While it was initially believed that she was simply waiting for WWE Creative to have plans for her, she tweeted a photo last August with her left arm in a sling, indicating that she had been sidelined due to injury.
