AJ Styles suffered broken ankle at WWE house show, won’t need surgery

AJ Styles announced on Twitter Saturday that he suffered a broken ankle at a WWE house show this week, but that it will not require surgery.
While wrestling in a trios match Thursday with The O.C. against The Judgment Day in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Styles sustained the injury after an over the top rope move to the outside of the ring.
He grabbed his left ankle and lower leg, leading to the referee immediately calling for the end of the match. Styles had to be helped to the back by Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows as he was unable to walk under his own power.
On Twitter Saturday morning, Styles revealed the diagnosis and that while the broken ankle won’t require surgery, the recovery will keep him out of action for the longest stretch in his career:
Just want you guys to know that I’m ok. Broken ankle is what I’m dealing with. No surgery, this just takes some time to recover. This will be the longest I've ever been out of the ring. Thanks for the prayers and get well wishes.

The 45-year-old Styles has experienced a relatively healthy last few years outside missing some time in early-2020 following a separated shoulder he suffered in the Royal Rumble.
