Adam Cole vs. Matt Riddle NXT title match set for next week

WWE is loading up next Wednesday’s episode of NXT with another title match.

A third title match has been confirmed for the show, with NXT Champion Adam Cole set to defend his title against Matt Riddle. The match announcement was made after Riddle defeated Killian Dain in a number one contender’s street fight on this week’s NXT.

After the street fight, there was an angle where Cole came out to the ring and got in Riddle’s face. Cole told Riddle that he isn’t in Cole’s league and will never be NXT Champion. Riddle then put Cole in a Fujiwara armbar. Cole tapped out until his Undisputed Era stablemates came down and chased off Riddle.

The Undisputed Era’s Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish will defend their NXT Tag Team titles against The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) next week. Candice LeRae will also challenge for Shayna Baszler’s NXT Women’s Championship on the episode.

WWE has announce that next week’s NXT will have “limited commercial interruption.” It’s the first time that NXT will air live on USA Network for the full two hours. It’s also the first week that NXT is going head-to-head with AEW Dynamite.
