Abbey Laith released from WWE

Abbey Laith has reportedly been released from her WWE contract.

Pro Wrestling Sheet reported this afternoon that Laith had been given the news today about her release. Additionally, Dave Meltzer has confirmed that Laith is gone.  There’s no concrete reason at this time why she was released.

She hasn’t talked on social media directly about her release, but did post something a few hours ago on her Twitter timeline, a quote from Rocky Balboa: “It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done”.

Laith, real named Kimberly Frankele, was signed back in December of 2016. She was part of last year’s Mae Young Classic, making it to the quarterfinals before being eliminated by Mercedes Martinez. Aside from one or two appearances, she never made NXT television. Her last match was a loss against Vanessa Borne on March 2.
