VIDEO: Jeff Hardy is back in AEW

Dave Meltzer shared his thoughts on Jeff Hardy’s return to AEW on Wrestling Observer Radio.
On Thursday morning’s show, Meltzer described AEW’s decision to bring back Hardy following another DUI arrest last year as a “controversial” move.
“Everybody likes Jeff Hardy,” Meltzer said. “How many times…every promotion, we’re going back 15 years, and something happens, and the rival promotions get him. Then he goes back to WWE. Something happens and the rival promotion gets him. It’s been an endless cycle of this. And this time, something happened in the rival promotion and they didn’t fire him, they had him go to rehab and now he’s back. We all wish there will be a happy ending to this story and we will never hear about it again and all that, but man, history is history.”
Meltzer said that while everyone wants to hope for the best, he pointed out that this is hardly the first time that Hardy has been arrested.
“Maybe this will be the happy ending like I said. And maybe Tony [Khan] will be right. And hopefully he is. Hopefully his trust is rewarded. If it was the second time, you could go well, maybe. But after this many times, at some point you just gotta go…I don’t know.”
