UFC on ESPN+ 73 live results: Derrick Lewis vs. Serghei Spivac

The Octagon is back at its home base at the UFC Apex for the final event in the month of November before the Thanksgiving holiday with a heavyweight main event featuring one of the most popular fighters on the roster.

Former heavyweight title challenger Derrick Lewis looks to end a two-fight losing skid and get back into the win column when he squares off with Serghei Spivac in the five-round headline bout. Lewis is coming off back-to-back knockout losses to Tai Tuivasa and Sergei Pavlovich, but is looking to end 2022 on a positive note headed into the holiday season. Spivac is riding a two-fight win streak following a second-round finish of Augusto Sakai in August.

In the co-main event, it’ll be a battle of light heavyweight sluggers as Kennedy Nzechukwu battles Ion Cutelaba. Also on the main card is a heavyweight fight between Chase Sherman and Waldo Cortes-Acosta, a welterweight clash pitting Andre Fialho against Muslim Salikhov, and fast-rising prospect Jack Della Maddalena takes on Danny Roberts in a welterweight bout.

Silva lands a leg kick and a combination right away. Bleda goes for a takedown and grabs the body lock. She pushes it against the fence. Silva gets the takedown but they get right back up and remain tied up. Silva lands a punch and gets another takedown but Bleda ends up on top. Bleda in the half-guard of Silva and lands a couple of right hands. Silva reverses to the top and passes to half-guard. Bleda looks for the triangle choke and has it locked in and is trying to get it fully in as Silva has an arm in. Bleda now switches to an armbar and is squeezing. Silva lands a big right hand. Bleda shoots for a takedown and pushes it against the fence. They reverse underhooks and Silva lands a knee before they separate. Silva lands a right hand. Garcia lands a right hand that nearly puts Hiestand down but Hiestand tries for a takedown. They’re scrambling and Garcia has the neck but Hiestand ends up in side control. Hiestand gets the back as they go to the fence and is looking for the body triangle. Garcia is able to spin into the guard and lands some right hands. Hiestand is able to get Garcia back down and has the back. They stand. Hiestand has the back with both hooks in on the mat. Garcia with some back punches. Hiestand trying to find a choke.
