UFC News: Anthony Pettis injured, replaced by Edson Barboza for Fox show (updated)

Former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis’ return to action after losing his title will be delayed as he was injured in training. As a result, he is now out of his co-main event bout with Myles Jury on the UFC on Fox show, scheduled for 7/25 in Chicago.

Pettis suffered torn ligaments and a torn muscle in one of his arms while practicing wrestling on Tuesday night.  He is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday in Las Vegas and will be out of action four-to-six months according to MMAFighting.com.

Jury will now face lightweight contender Edson Barboza on the show with Miesha Tate vs. Jessica Eye taking the co-main event slot. Jury is coming off the first loss of his career, a decision defeat to Donald Cerrone in January, while Barboza lost to Michael Johnson in February.
