UFC on FOX 20 final rating nearly 3 million viewers

Final ratings are in for Saturday’s UFC on Fox 20 with the show doing a much better rating than expected with 2.975 million viewers — their best on Fox since January 2015.
Other than former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm in the main event, this show had nowhere near the star power of any previous Fox show. In addition, the prelims portion of the show (also on Fox) was down from last July’s show at 1.261 million viewers. That’s further evidence that this rating was almost entirely due to Holm.
Last July’s show, with a much stronger card, featuring a men’s bantamweight title fight between TJ Dillishaw and Renan Barao and a top contender’s fight between Miesha Tate and Jessica Eye, did 2.758 million viewers for the main card and 1.341 million for the prelims.
Holm was coming off featured fights on consecutive PPVs that did over 1 million PPV buys each with the November 2015 UFC 193 title win over Ronda Rousey and her title loss to Tate at March’s UFC 196.
