UFC on ESPN+ 44 live results: Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs. Ciryl Gane

The UFC closes out a busy month of February with its third heavyweight headliner in the four events this month, which could clear up the title picture even further in the division.

Knockout artists Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Ciryl Gane square off in the five-round main event. Both men are coming off knockout wins over Junior Dos Santos, as Rozenstruik defeated him at UFC 252 in August, and Gane got his win over him at UFC 256 in December. Rozenstruik has been impressive in the UFC, with his lone loss coming to Francis Ngannou, but Gane has yet to taste defeat in his young seven-fight career.

In the co-main event, Nikita Krylov looks for his second straight win against Magomed Ankalaev, winner of five straight, in an exciting light heavyweight match-up. Also on the main card is a women’s flyweight bout between Montana De La Rosa and Mayra Bueno Silva, bantamweights Pedro Munhoz and Jimmie Rivera square off in a rematch of a November 2015 bout won by Rivera, and a featherweight bout between Alex Caceres and Kevin Croom.

Jacoby lands a calf kick to start. Jacoby lands a nice leg kick. Grishin goes for a takedown but Jacoby defends as Grishin pins him against the fence. Grishin lands a right hand and Jacoby stumbles back and falls to the mat and Grishin jumps on his back and is looking for a choke. Jacoby worked his way out and they get to their feet against the fence. They break and Jacoby with a body kick. Grishin with an inside leg kick. Grishin with another leg kick. Grishin landing more and then he knocks Jacoby down at the end of the round and was landing as the round ended. Big finish to the round for Grishin. 10-9 Grishin.

Jacoby with a leg kick to start the second but he’s moving backwards. Grishin with some low kicks as he is coming forward. Grishin with a body kick. Jacoby being busier in the second. He lands a couple of jabs and lands a body kick. Grishin breathing deeper now. Jacoby with a leg kick. Grishin trying to clinch but Jacoby slipping away. Jacoby went for a flying knee but missed and they clinch against the fence. They break and Jacoby with some leg kicks. Grishin with a body kick. Bantamweights

Lawrence circling around and lands a couple of leg kicks and then a jumping knee. Cachero with a body kick. Lawrence gets a takedown in the center of the Octagon. Cachero was looking for a submission from the bottom but Lawrence scrambles out and keeps Cachero on the mat. They scramble up and Lawrence looked for the neck but they broke. Lawrence lands a leg kick and Cachero crumbles to the mat but gets right back up. Lawrence gets another takedown but Cachero pops right back up. Cachero lands a nice right hand and Lawrence decides to take him back down. Cachero trying to work for a triangle. Lawrence with some elbows from the top. He ends the round almost from the mount position. 10-9 Lawrence.

They trade to start the second and Lawrence coming out aggressive and lands a leg kick, then a body kick and then a head kick. Lawrence with a left hand and Cachero counters with a leg kick. Lawrence gets a takedown and working from the side. They scramble but Lawrence able to keep Cachero down. Cachero works his way to the feet but Lawrence takes him right back down. Cachero gets the neck and tries for a guillotine but Lawrence rolls out to escape. Cachero now looking for a D’Arce choke. Lawrence escapes and has the back of Cachero and gets another takedown. Lawrence ends the round on top. 10-9 Lawrence, 20-18 Lawrence.

Lawrence lands a spinning back kick, then a leg kick that trips Cachero up and gets a takedown right away to start the third and is working from the top. Lawrence landing lots of shots from the top as Cachero gives up his back. Lawrence landing tons of punches and this fight could be stopped. The referee letting it go on too long and he finally stops it as Lawrence gets the finish. What a performance by Lawrence!

Women’s Bantamweights

Davis with an early leg kick. Mazo working the jab and lands a straight right. Mazo lands a combo. Mazo with a leg kick and then a body kick and Davis gets a takedown off a kick. Davis is in side control and Mazo trying to defend from the bottom. Davis with some body punches. Davis gets the back of Mazo and is looking to dig the hooks in. Mazo rolls but Davis still has the back. Davis still trying to look for the choke from the back. Mazo tries to spin in and Davis ends up in the mount but Mazo gives her back up. Davis landing from the back as the round ends. 10-9 Davis.

Croom with a right hand to the body as he comes in looking for a takedown. Caceres defending well against the fence. Croom still working for the takedown against the fence and Caceres still defending. Caceres lands a knee and then slips and Croom grabs his back and drags him down to the mat. Caceres spins to the guard of Croom and lands a right hand. They stand and break. Croom with a leg kick and shoots for a takedown but Caceres defends and has the back. They continue to battle for underhooks. 10-9 Caceres.

Croom lands a right hand and shoots for a takedown but Caceres defends. Croom gets Caceres down for a brief second but they stand and Croom has the back standing.
