UFC on ESPN 19 live results: Jack Hermansson vs. Marvin Vettori

The Octagon kicks off the final month of the year with the first of three events held at their headquarters in Las Vegas, with a middleweight headliner leading the way on this card.

Fourth-ranked middleweight Jack Hermansson looks to score his second straight win and keep his name in the title picture as he takes on Marvin Vettori, winner of three straight fights, in the five-round main event. Vettori is taking this fight on one week’s notice after Hermansson’s opponent, Kevin Holland, was forced out of the bout due to COVID. Holland himself was already a replacement for Darren Till.

Also on the card is a light heavyweight bout between Ovince Saint Preux and the undefeated Jamahal Hill, another light heavyweight bout between Roman Dolidze and John Allan, and a pair of lightweight fights as Gabriel Benitez takes on Justin Jaynes, and Matt Wiman looks for his first UFC win since 2014 against undefeated newcomer Jordan Leavitt.

They traded to start and Collier with some leg kicks and Villante counters with some punches. Collier with a leg kick and follows it with a jab. Villante lands a right hand. He lands another. Collier lands a hard jab. Collier with a body kick. Collier lands another jab. Collier with a combo and lands a knee. Both men are throwing hard punches and Collier with a body punch. Collier with a combo and a kick. Collier with another left hook to the body. Collier rocks Villante with a left hook and follows up with some punches as Villante retreats. Villante throwing slow punches as Collier lands the double jab. 10-9 Collier.

They trade punches right away to start the second. Collier lands a right hand. Villante with a leg kick. Collier lands a combo. Villante lands a jab. Villante lands a combo that backs Collier up. They exchange jabs. Collier with an inside leg kick. Collier is busted open but it isn’t affecting him. They trade kicks. They trade jabs. Villante with an inside leg kick. We have a groin strike to start the third but we get back to action. They both throw hard punches as Villante lands an uppercut and Collier lands a left hook. Collier with a body kick. Villante with a leg kick. Collier with an elbow. Villante lands a groin strike on Collier and we have another timeout but get back to action. Collier lands a big punch and then a hard right hand as they got back to action. Collier lands a couple of hard punches. Collier lands another combo as he comes forward. Collier with a spin kick to the body. Collier lands the jab and a front kick to the body. Villante is landing some but Collier is landing with more volume. Collier with a hard jab. 10-9 Collier, 30-27 Collier.

Featherweights

Jackson with a body kick and Topuria lands a counter right hand. Topuria lands a body punch right next to the fence. Topuria with a combo and then lands to the body. Jackson lands a right hand. Jackson lands another and then an uppercut as he comes in for a takedown against the fence but Topuria defends and they break. Topuria with some left hooks to the body. Topuria with a combo ending with a hard left hook. Jackson lands a knee as they clinch and break. Topuria with more body punches. He lands to the body and Jackson drops his hands and Topuria with a right hand to the jaw and Jackson goes down and is out cold. What a performance by Topuria.

Bantamweights

They swing early and then tie up and Quinonez gets a takedown into side control but they scramble up. Smolka lands a left hand. Smolka with a body kick. Smolka with a body kick and Quinonez grabs the leg and lands a right hand. Quinonez with a couple of leg kicks. Smolka lands a counter right hand as Quinonez with a leg kick. Quinonez with a left hand. Quinonez with a combo and Smolka is covering up and Quinonez with a nice leg kick. Smolka with a right hand. They are trading punches. Quinonez with a leg kick. Smolka tries a takedown but Quinonez defends and lands a knee. Smolka lands a right hand. They tie up and both land flurries and Quinonez lands a knee. They both land combos. Smolka with a right hand. They trade and Smolka has a cut open. Smolka gets a takedown and is working for a choke but Quinonez scrambles up at the end. Wild first round. 10-9 Quinonez.

Quinonez with a combo to start the second. They trade punches. Quinonez with a body kick. They trade before they clinch and both working for a takedown against the fence and Quinonez gets it. Smolka grabs the neck as they stand. They break. Smolka with a right hand and they clinch and Smolka with some body punches before they break. They clinch and Smolka with a takedown and then he moves to mount for a moment and then has the back and is landing. Smolka moves to mount and lands then takes full back mount and is landing big punches. Smolka still landing and Jason Herzog stops the fight. What a showing by Smolka.

Lightweights

Leavitt was trying for a takedown right away. Wiman jumped up and Leavitt was carrying him towards his corner and then slammed Wiman to the mat and Wiman was out cold immediately. What a scary and incredible finish by Leavitt.

> Roman Dolidze (7-0, 1-0 UFC) vs. John Allan (13-5 1 NC, 0-0 1 NC UFC)
Light Heavyweights

Dolidze with some early high kicks. Allan hurt Dolidze with a hook as Dolidze got a takedown and they scrambled and Dolidze was on top. Allan went for an armbar from the bottom but Dolidze stood. Dolidze went back to the mat and went for the heel hook and had it locked in. Allan was trying to roll out and slipped out and they got to their feet. Allan lands a leg kick as Dolidze lands a right hand. Allan with a right hand and then a jab. Dolidze with some body shots. Allan with a body kick. Allan with another body kick. Dolidze stunned Allan late and Allan went down but Dolidze went looking for a submission instead of ground-and-pound and time ran out. 10-9 Dolidze.

Dolidze with a body kick. Allan with a leg kick. Allan lands a right hand. Dolidze gets a takedown and is into side control. Dolidze lands some left hands as he moves into the half-guard. Dolidze continuing to land left hands from the top as he keeps busy. Allan is trying to look for the neck as Dolidze was peppering him with body shots. Dolidze is doing a great job of keeping Allan on the mat. Dolidze goes back to side control and lands some punches. Dolidze goes for the heel hook again but Allan slips out and they stand. Allan coming forward but not landing much. Dolidze just landing the jab and being patient in this round. Dolidze grabs a leg for a takedown but eats some punches from Allan. Allan lands a right hand and Dolidze is backing up. They clinch and Allan gets a takedown. Dolidze looks to throw his legs up and they scramble up and Dolidze is looking for a takedown and gets it. Dolidze on top and is landing elbows and body punches. Dolidze with some right hands from the top and some body shots as the fight ends. 10-9 Dolidze, 30-27 Dolidze.

Benitez was landing early as Jaynes was coming forward. Benitez lands a leg kick and then a body kick as Jaynes keeps pressing forward. Benitez with a body kick. Jaynes lands a right hand and then a body punch. Benitez with a leg kick. Benitez with more body kicks and then lands an uppercut. Jaynes throwing uppercuts but not landing them. Benitez with a short uppercut and then lands a left hand. Benitez with a combo then a leg kick. Benitez with a quick combo. Benitez lands a knee to the body of Jaynes and Jaynes goes down and Benitez lands a couple of punches and the fight is stopped. What a great finish by Benitez.

Saint Preux constantly switching his stances. Hill lands a knee right after Saint Preux partially slips. Hill with a combo and then lands a right hand to the body. Hill lands to the head and hurts Saint Preux with a right hand against the fence and they clinch but break. Hill with a combo and lands a knee and Hill is teeing off against the fence and lands a couple of more knees. Hill with a combo and Saint Preux is hurt standing and Hill keeps pouring it on and the fight is stopped. Impressive showing by Hill.
