Next two UFC shows taking shape even without confirmed location

With the UFC gearing up for several events in the upcoming weeks, several fights have been announced for those events.

The next event will be taking place on Saturday, May 30, headlined by former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley taking on Gilbert Burns. Per MMA Junkie, former title challenger Katlyn Chookagian will be taking on Antonina Shevchenko, sister of women’s flyweight champion Valentina who Chookagian unsuccessfully challenged for the title in February.

Also slated for that show are Casey Kenney vs. Louis Smolka, Tim Elliott vs. newcomer Brandon Royval, Roosevelt Roberts vs. Brok Weaver, and Billy Quarantillo vs. Spike Carlyle.

Following that is the UFC 250 pay-per-view on Saturday, June 6, headlined by UFC women’s featherweight champion Amanda Nunes vs. Felicia Spencer. Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt vs. Raphael Assuncao is also official for the show, a fight originally tabbed for the canceled Columbus, OH, show.

Additionally, Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley have both said they will be on the show with Sterling expected to face Cory Sandhagen while O’Malley is expected to go against Eddie Wineland. A welterweight bout between Neil Magny and Anthony Rocco Martin has also been announced.

Those two shows are scheduled to take place at their APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. While the state has yet to officially open up for sports without fans, there is a commission meeting on Wednesday, May 27th. Among the items on the agenda is approval for requests by the UFC to hold those events there. Dana White has said that Arizona is a fallback option if Nevada isn’t an option.
