Conor McGregor revealed as cover star for EA Sports’ UFC 3

EA Sports announced today that Conor McGregor would be the cover athlete for the next installment of their UFC video game franchise, UFC 3, which is scheduled to be released for both the Xbox One and Playstation 4 consoles on February 2nd, 2018.
McGregor was also featured on last year’s cover, sharing the spotlight with Ronda Rousey. “Two belts, two covers. EA Sports got it right again,” McGregor said about being chosen for UFC 3.
For the first time, the game will feature a component where decisions made outside the Octagon will affect your career path. The G.O.A.T. career mode will allow players to strategically promote upcoming fights, create heat for rivalries, and more.
McGregor became the first UFC fighter to hold championships in two weight classes at the same time when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez last November at the company’s Madison Square Garden debut. By defeating Alvarez, McGregor added the lightweight title to the featherweight belt that he had won from Jose Aldo in 2015.
McGregor was later forced to vacate the featherweight title, with interim champion Aldo holding the belt before losing it to Max Holloway.
The UFC returns to MSG this Saturday night with UFC 217, where Georges St-Pierre will return to the Octagon after an almost four-year absence to challenge Michael Bisping for his middleweight belt.
