Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone both made weight Friday at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, making their Saturday UFC 246 main event official.
Both men came in at 170 pounds. Cerrone was the first on the scale at 9 AM local time while McGregor weighed in at 9:38 AM local time.
Both looked to be in excellent shape, especially McGregor who didn’t have to cut weight after fighting at lightweight and feathweight for the majority of his career. Cerrone, who has mainly fought at lightweight with a few welterweight bouts, said at Thursday’s media day that he was at 174 pounds, so he had to cut several pounds.
McGregor requested the fight be at 170 pounds during negotiations as he didn’t feel the need for either man to have to cut a lot of weight.
In other news, Alexa Grasso missed weight badly, weighing in at 121.5 pounds, 5.5 pounds over the strawweight limit. After some deliberation, her fight with Claudia Gadelha was canceled due to the weight difference and other health issues.
All other fighters made their contracted weight.
