Women’s title defense, grudge match added to Ring of Honor Final Battle

Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion Athena will put her title on the line against stablemate and former Women’s TV Champion Billie Starkz at next Friday’s ROH Final Battle.
The match was made during Thursday’s HonorClub show after Athena stole a pin from Starkz on Red Velvet to earn her spot at January’s Wrestle Dynasty International Women’s Cup. In a backstage segment, Starkz confronted Athena about the situation and they agreed to a title match at the streaming special from New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom.
It will be their third-ever singles match with the first coming in the opening round of the 2023 Owen Hart Foundation women’s tournament. The two then squared off at last year’s Final Battle with Athena successfully defending her title.
Athena has held the title for more than 730 days with 24 successful title defenses.
In another new match for the card, Jay Lethal will take on QT Marshall. This was also made Thursday during a backstage segment where Lethal was talking about his future and Marshall interrupted which led to a physical altercation and the match being made.
Here’s the current card:
- ROH World Champion Chris Jericho defends against Matt Cardona
- ROH Women’s World Champion Athena defends against Billie Starkz
- ROH Tag Team Champions Sons of Texas (Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara) defend against The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch)
- ROH Women’s TV Champion Red Velvet defends against Leyla Hirsch
- Jay Lethal vs. QT Marshall
