One of the NWA’s titles changed hands at ROH’s post-Best in the World television tapings.

James Storm defeated Colt Cabana to become the new NWA National Champion at Saturday’s TV tapings in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Cabana was in street clothes and tapped out to a half crab.

Cabana was doing an interview about his injury when he was interrupted by Storm. After their last match against each other in May ended in a 15-minute time-limit draw, Storm said he wanted his five more minutes now. Cabana initially refused because of his injury but accepted after Storm attacked him.

Storm tweeted after his title win: “Well I know @nwa isn’t a fan of mine and won’t post this as they do for ALL the others so……. AND NEW…… James Mother F ing Storm”

Cabana was originally scheduled to team with NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis against The Briscoes at Friday’s Best in the World pay-per-view, but he was pulled from the match due to an injury that he suffered on June 5 that resulted in a hematoma on his quadriceps muscle and made it so he couldn’t walk for nearly two weeks.

Eli Drake replaced Cabana as Aldis’ partner, and it was revealed that Drake has signed with the NWA. Aldis & Drake vs. The Briscoes ended in a double countout.
