Flip Gordon suffered MCL tear, expected back in time for MSG show

Ring of Honor has issued another injury update on Flip Gordon.

ROH announced that an MRI has revealed that Gordon suffered a full MCL tear in his right knee while facing Tracy Williams at Honor Reigns Supreme on January 13. It was noted that the timetable for Gordon’s recovery means that he should be able to return in time for ROH and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden on April 6.

Gordon also tweeted today: “Got great news today from the Doctors #SeeYouSoon”

At Honor Reigns Supreme, Gordon grabbed his knee after hitting a single-leg dropkick into the corner. He rolled out of the ring shortly after hitting a springboard spear. The referee called for the bell and Williams was declared the winner by stoppage.

Gordon was originally supposed to face Bandido at Road to G1 Supercard: Dallas this Thursday and team with Colt Cabana in the Tag Wars tournament that’s taking place at ROH’s three G1 Supercard shows in Texas. Bandido is now facing Silas Young in Dallas, and Willie Mack is Cabana’s new partner for the tournament.
