Cary Silkin says Tony Khan is not treating ROH very well

The former owner of Ring of Honor believes the promotion is not being treated well.
Cary Silkin discussed the current era of ROH during a recent episode of his Mat Memories from Madison Sqaure Garden podcast with John Arezzi. Silkin owned the promotion from 2002 to 2011 and then served as an ambassador for it until Tony Khan became owner in 2022.
The hosts were discussing the late 2000s ROH product when Silkin said the current Ring of Honor feels like an afterthought.
“Ring of Honor of that era tried to show some respect to professional wrestling,” Silkin said. ‘Sure, we had some wacky stuff. Sure, we had the the flippy dippy do… was coming into fashion but, you know, the flippy dippy do was going on with Édouard Carpentier too.”
“Ring of Honor, there was some good pro wrestling going on in that segment of it but right now, Ring of Honor it’s like no one cares at all. I don’t care how much money Tony Khan has. It’s not being treated very well.”
Silkin’s comments take place late in the June 28 edition of the show, which discussed the June 24, 1974 WWWF show from Madison Square Garden. The full episode is available below.
