Austin Aries appears at ROH 16th Anniversary PPV

In a major surprise, Austin Aries returned to Ring of Honor tonight at their 16th Anniversary show in Las Vegas.

After Kenny King retained the ROH Television title against Silas Young, Aries appeared in the entranceway. He wasn’t billed as Impact World champion, and Impact was never mentioned by the announcers, but he did have all the championship belts he’s collected in the last year with him, which does include the Impact title.

Aries said that he’s held many titles in ROH, but never held the Television title and he wanted a title shot. King motioned like he wanted the match now, but officials went after Aries and the segment ended there.

The last time Aries appeared for ROH was in 2015, when he teamed with Jay Lethal and Moose in a losing effort against Dalton Castle, Jay Briscoe and Kyle O’Reilly. He has previously won the ROH World Championship twice and the ROH Tag Team titles once with Roderick Strong.
