SiriusXM launching 24-hour wrestling channel to replace Fight Nation
Starting on July 1, SiriusXM will officially launch a 24-hour channel dedicated to wrestling.
The news was first announced on Busted Open Thursday morning, a show that got a viral campaign going on social media this week to help boost the awareness.
The channel (156 for subscribers) will be called Pro Wrestling Nation and will feature Busted Open Radio seven days a week from 9 AM-noon Eastern and its After Dark spinoff which is expanding to five nights a week with two of those nights covered by former F4W personality Denise Salcedo. The main show will replay at 4 PM Eastern daily.
WWE star Natalya will also launch her own show, a weekly hour called The Hart Beat which will air Thursdays at 11 AM Eastern, replacing the third hour of Busted Open that day.
Other announced programming includes:
- Sam Roberts with Notsam Wrestling Live from noon-2 PM Eastern Monday through Thursday
- Peter Rosenberg with Cheap Heat Live from noon-2 PM Eastern Fridays
- Jonathan Coachman’s Off The Ropes from 2-4 PM Eastern weekdays
Busted Open lead host Dave LaGreca also signed a multi-year extension to coincide with the news.
The daily Busted Open Radio podcast, which features clips from that day’s show, will continue as will the podcast-exclusive Master’s Class which is released on Mondays.
The news does come with a downside as the new channel will replace the long-running Fight Nation channel which housed their wrestling shows in addition to MMA and boxing shows like MMA Today and At The Fights.
RJ Clifford, the co-host of MMA Today who has been with SiriusXM for 15 years, revealed the news Thursday on X. It’s unknown how many layoffs will come out of the change.
